This morning a real live bus driver came to our room to talk about bus safety. NWSD is in its second year for this project where a bus driver comes to the schools to talk about bus safety. We discussed many things such as:
- How to sit on the bus
- Where is a safe and not safe place to wait for the bus.
- How far away to wait for the bus.
Mrs.Toews spent some time explaining to the kids about how far away you have to be to be seen by someone in a vehicle. This is a good safety point that would be good to go over at home as well. Even passenger vehicles have blind spots!
The kids were really good listeners and we would like to thanks Helen Toews for coming to show us good bus safety. Each of the kids are coming home with a new bus safety colouring book as well as new crayons.
